For MLS & Association Leadership

Teach the 1031.
Grow your members' volume.

1031 Specialists is the only national Qualified Intermediary partnered with Kaplan to build and deliver 1031 exchange education. We bring that classroom to your membership — accredited, in every state, at no cost to your MLS.

The Opportunity

Your members are surrounded by investor clients.
Most were never taught how to serve them.

Investors now buy 17% of every home sold in America — single-family, condos and townhomes — the highest share in recorded history, and up nearly 50% in five years. Investment property is the one asset a client can't sell without asking a tax question first. When an agent can't answer "what happens to my gain?", the client doesn't stop — they go find a CPA, an attorney, or another agent who can. The deal still happens. It just happens somewhere else.

1031 knowledge is the cheapest volume your members will ever add. It requires no new lead source, no new territory, and no new license — only an hour of instruction and the confidence to raise the subject at the listing appointment.

The line only goes one way. Investor share of U.S. home sales has more than doubled since 2000 and sits near its all-time high. Every one of those buyers is a candidate for an exchange — and every one of them eventually sells.

The Member Math

One 1031 client is not one transaction.

This is the part that changes how an agent works. A 1031 exchange is a sale and a purchase, welded together by a federal deadline — and the client cannot walk away from either half.

  1. 1The listing. The relinquished property your member is already trying to win.
  2. +The purchase. A replacement property that must close within 180 days. Not a maybe — a requirement.
  3. +The next one. Exchangers exchange again. Three to seven years later, the same client calls the agent who understood the first one.
  4. +The referrals. Their CPA, their attorney, their partner in the LLC, their brother-in-law with the duplex.
  5. =A repeat investor relationship instead of a one-time closing.

Institutional Backing

Selected by NAR's own investment arm.

Bringing an outside vendor in front of your membership is a reputational decision. Ours is not a company that showed up with a pitch deck — we were selected into NAR's technology scale-up program, and our coursework was built with the organisation that licenses your members.

We are backed by the largest real estate organization on Earth

We are the only Qualified Intermediary in the country ever invited to join REACH, a scale-up incubator / investment fund inside the National Association of Realtors.

“With the backing of REACH, 1031 Specialists will help more agents and brokers demystify the 1031 exchange process, deliver more value to their clients, and ultimately win more business.” Bob Gillespie, Managing Partner at REACH Commercial
Kaplan Real Estate Education

Coursework built with the people who license your members.

Kaplan is where American real estate professionals get licensed and stay licensed. We worked with Kaplan to build and deliver 1031 exchange coursework, so what your members learn is exam-grade and identical whether they practice in Denver or Charleston — not a vendor lunch presentation with a slide deck.

“1031 Specialists is redefining how investors manage 1031 exchanges — using automation and precision tech to make complex transactions simple, transparent, and scalable.” NAR Tech and Innovation
Accredited

Real CE credit

Coursework built to state continuing-education standards, not a vendor lunch presentation with a slide deck.

Practitioner-written

Taught by people who close

Written and delivered by a team with 31,000+ completed exchanges and 250+ combined years in the chair. Members ask live-deal questions and get live-deal answers.

National

The same class, every state

One curriculum, one standard, all 50 states and 384 metro markets — so a multi-state MLS isn't stitching together four different providers.

What Your Members Receive

A ready-made education program, delivered.

You don't build anything. You don't staff anything. You pick the pieces that fit your calendar and your members' appetite, and we run them.

CE Classes

Accredited 1031 coursework

Kaplan-partnered classes delivered live or virtual, for continuing-education credit in your state. Scheduled around your existing education calendar.

Lunch & Learn

45 minutes, in the office

Brokerage-level sessions for member offices that want the practical version: how to spot an exchange, what to say, what not to promise. We travel; you schedule.

Webinars

A quarterly member series

Hosted under your MLS brand, recorded, and archived in your member portal so a new agent in March can still watch January's session.

Resources

Co-branded client tools

45/180-day timelines, client-facing one-pagers, qualifying checklists, and listing language a member can hand to a seller the same afternoon.

Support

A named exchange desk

A direct line your members and their clients can call with a question — staffed by exchange specialists, not a call center, and with no upsell attached.

Execution

We run the live deals

When a member's client actually exchanges: qualified intermediary services, escrow coordination, tax consulting, audit protection, and an attorney guarantee.

How It Works

Three conversations to a class on the calendar.

STEP 01

The partnership call

Thirty minutes. We learn your member profile, your education calendar, your compliance requirements, and which of your markets skew investor-heavy.

STEP 02

Curriculum fit

We map coursework to your state's CE approval process and lay out a four-quarter schedule — classes, webinars, and office sessions — for you to approve.

STEP 03

Launch

First class booked, co-branded resources delivered to your member portal, and the member exchange desk line goes live with your MLS name on it.

The commercial terms

There is no cost to the MLS and no revenue share to negotiate. We are paid by the exchange clients your members introduce — and only when an exchange actually happens. Your members are never obligated to use us, and we never ask for your member data.

Next Step

Let's put a class on your calendar.

Tell us about your membership and we'll come back within one business day with a proposed curriculum and two times to meet.

  • A curriculum recommendation sized to your membership
  • Your state's CE approval path, already researched
  • A sample co-branded member resource kit
  • Two proposed meeting times, no obligation
